Safety Coloring Contest

Central Valley Electric Cooperative participates in the Safety Coloring Contest, sponsored in part by the New Mexico Marketing and Member Service Association. For more than 20 years, CVE has been actively teaching 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students about electrical safety through the coloring contest.

Early in the spring semester CVE drops off the coloring sheets at elementary schools in Artesia, Dexter, Hagerman, and Lake Arthur. When the contest is over CVE employees will judge the entries and assign first, second and third place winners for each elementary school. Also, an overall winner will be picked from all of the schools. The overall winner will be entered in the statewide competition and have a chance at one of three prizes at that level.  The winners are announced at the schools before the end of the school year and prizes will be awarded to the local winners at that time.
