Energy Efficiency Rebates and Programs

CVE members can buy Marathon Electric Water Heaters at 60% off the co-op's price (water heaters must be installed in a home or business served by CVE).

These water heaters have a lifetime warranty on the tank (if registered within 90 days of purchse)!

Marathons come in a range of sizes, and CVE keeps 30, 40, and 50-gallon water heaters in stock.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of the premium insulation around the tank, Marathon Water Heaters are slightly wider than most water heaters. In an effort to promote energy-efficient lighting for our commercial and industrial (C & I) members, CVE offers rebates for qualifying efficient lighting.

C & I members who upgrade (retrofit) their lighting fixtures to more energy-efficient fixtures in existing facilities/buildings, and those members building new facilities/buildings (new construction) could be eligible for rebates. (Outdoor lighting including parking lot lights, outdoor wall packs, etc. are excluded from this rebate).

Heating and cooling is typically the number one energy consumer in homes and buildings. Central Valley Electric Cooperative promotes the installation of energy efficient heating and cooling products when constructing new homes or buildings or remodeling.

Rebates are available for qualified ground source and air source heat pumps.

Have you scheduled your FREE Home Energy Audit?

A Home Energy Audit is an inspection and evaluation of a home's energy efficiency level.

The process starts with scheduling a Home Energy Audit of your house. An independent contractor will come to your home and perform an energy audit that will include a Blower Door test to find out how well your home is sealed against the outside air. Infrared technology is used to find all penetration leaks, and to find areas that are poorly insulated in the attic.

The contractor will then make small repairs to help fix any issues that were found during the home energy audit.

We are contracted with GREEN MEDAL ENERGY to perform a thorough energy audit. They are experienced, licensed, insured, and they're ready to help you save energy and money

CVE wants to promote energy efficient methods for motor and pump based systems using Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). The co-op will offer members a rebate of sixty percent (60%) of the equipment cost for the installation of qualified VFDs. (taxes and labor not included)

All installed VFDs, regardless of the HP, must meet or exceed the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers standard on Harmonic Control and Limitations (IEEE519) for electric power systems. A minimum of a 12 pulse Variable Frequency Drive is required; filters may also be required to prevent harmonic issues. Motors other than irrigation must have assumed annual load factors of at least 50 percent. Should the use of a VFD create unacceptable levels of harmonic distortion, the member will be responsible for resolving the issue to a level acceptable by CVE.

Rebates will be capped at $75,000.00 annually for any one member. Members must apply for rebates within 60 days of VFD installation.

Central Valley Electric Cooperative promotes installing ENERGY-STAR-rated appliances in homes. CVE's electric appliance rebate offers residential, commercial, and industrial members a rebate on select ENERGY-STAR-rated electric appliances.
